Skype is very common software from Microsoft Company. This software is used by business professionals as well as by individuals for communication purposes. You can easily call and send message to other person through Skype software.
However, occasionally some Skype users are getting login related problems on their PC screen. If you are also facing the same problem then I am going to explain the solution for this problem through this blog post. You need not to take support from Skype support center or any other source after reading this blog.
Now I am going to share my experience about Skype with you. One day when I tried to sign up for Skype account then I was not able to go through and getting ‘Skype not connecting’ message repeatedly.
I hurriedly looked for solution on the internet. I have even taken support from Skype help link but all went in vain. At last I come to a solution after reading views from existing users. The solution that I got there was to delete Skype folder from the computer. I quickly opened home folder and search for Skype folder inside it. After getting it searched, I have deleted the Skype folder completely from that list.
So, if you are also frustrated with this problem then try the same solution on your computer with Linux OS. If you are not able find the Skype folder then it means that the folder is hidden. To unhide this, you have to type ‘is-all’ under command window. You will find that all the hidden folders will get displayed on your computer screen after entering this command in the command window. You have another option to delete the Skype folder with the help of Rm-Fr command. This must be ensured that these commands are without any quotes. This solution is valid only for ‘connecting’ errors but not for ‘Skype sound not working’ problem.
If you are having file manager in your system, then you can also follow this path to delete the Skype folder from your system. To delete the folder from file manager, first unhide the Skype folder from hidden files, then click on remove button to delete the folder from file manager. This method is possible on window XP, window 7, 8 and vista OS. You will find Skype configuration folder in such OS. To search this folder, type c:\users\name\. In window XP, there are no such commands, you have to simply click on ‘document and settings’ folder.
If your computer windows is not mentioned in the above passage, then simply use search tool to find the Skype folder under user profile. All the temporary files and folders are always stored under user profile folder. The Skype folder mustn’t be deleted from program files in Window XP and vista OS’s. This must be taken care of.
Try signing into Skype account after deleting the Skype configuration menu. If your problem is resolved then it’s well and good, otherwise go to Skype.com link for direct sign in through web based Skype. If you achieve success in signing up from web based Skype, then it is clear that the problem lies within the computer and app only.
In my case, I was able to troubleshoot this problem by updating the Skype version from 4.2 to 4.3. After successfully updating my software, I was able to get rid of this problem properly and didn’t get same error message again on the screen. Many problems like Skype webcam not working and others can be resolved by updating the Skype software version.
I hope that if these tips worked on my computer, then it will definitely work on your computer too. All the above mentioned tips and procedures are valid on Linux, Mac and window operating systems. Yes, in case of any query and problem, you are free to take help from Skype customer service chat window.
