Skype for Business in 90 Series Cars of Volvo

Volvo Cars today announced that it will commence Skype for business and the productivity app of Microsoft to its new 90 series cars. This is the first car maker who is launching such type of in-car productivity tool.

The Skype for business app can be used for meetings, messaging, and screen sharing. In the 90 series cars of Volvo, people will now be able to view their upcoming meetings, and detail of participant, and join meetings just with one click via the bigger center display.

Vice-president, Consumer Connectivity Services at Volvo Car Group, Anders Tylman-Mickiewicz said that If you are sitting in car then there are the chances either you will fumble to or drop your phone in middle of car or you will forget the long pin code or Skype not working. This is not the way that you should start a call. Well, there are instances when you have to face the Skype camera not working due to the connection issues and tech errors. In between all this you will not pay attention on the road where it should actually be. But with Skype for Business, you will not face all these problems.

Tylman-Mickiewicz further said the Skype for business app represents another big step towards our in-car connectivity and communication offer. With the emergence of independent cars, we see the future where the in-car productivity tools will help in reducing the time that will spent in office. This is just the start of a new way of looking at the spending time in car. Skype Support Chat will always be there for in-car tools also.

The Partnership of Volvo and Microsoft also includes the assessment of using Cortana, which is Microsoft’s Intelligent personal assistant, with an intention of adding voice recognition and circumstantial perceptions by predicting the needs of the user. Volvo is also working with Ericsson, that will provide the cloud-based solutions to the company.

“Volvo Cars is leading the way in its appreciation of the nature of work is also increasingly itinerant. Now the people need to be productive from every point of view. This includes their cars also. We’re exhilarated to outspread modern meetings to Volvo cars,” said director of Product Management for Skype for Business at Microsoft, Ben Canning.

Tylman-Mickiewicz said in a statement at Volvo we have been working for years with the technology of in-car communication. Starting from built-in handsets in 80s and 90s to standard Bluetooth hands-free functionality, we have always tried to understand the importance of making the life easier on move for the people along with a concrete focus on safety and lessening the distraction of driver. You may face the problem of Skype Not Connecting in case you are in the area where network is not proper otherwise this issue will not arise in Skype for Business.
